Dana Cues are renowned throughout the world for their fine attention to craftsmanship and the rare and exotic woods used.

Dana possesses the last known piece to exist on the planet! You can have your cue built using this extinct species. This will be a collectors item the moment it is completed. Mahogany varies from yellowish, reddish, pinkish, or salmon colored when freshly cut, to a deep rich red, to reddish brown as the wood matures with age. Mahogany is fine to medium texture, with uniform to interlocking grain, ranging from straight to wavy or curly.

A natural occurrence found predominately in hard maple causes "eyes" to form and give a striking figure to the wood. Straight grain with intermittent eyes makes this a great accent wood. From United States

Hard and heavy wood with irregular grain and a medium fine texture. Heart wood is a variegated color from purple-red to yellow, with black markings. The color turns deep orange red with exposure. From Mexico and Central America

The heart wood is a rich violet brown background shading to almost black. Streaks of black, violet black, and brown appear through out the wood. The sap wood is off-white. From Central and South America. |

Reddish brown wood, with an interlocking grain and a golden luster or glow beneath. It is a hard, heavy and very strong wood.

Ranges in color from light to reddish brown to deep mahogany red-brown with a striking figure created by beautiful, bold, brown to nearly black irregular markings or striping.

Variable in color from a yellowish cream to golden brown, sometimes with prominent reddish-brown or pink stripes. It has a medium texture and medium to high natural luster.

A particularly fine, beautiful wood, with colors varying from light to golden brown and variegated irregular markings. It is a strong lustrous wood, with medium and uniform texture and straight or shallowly interlocked grain.

One of the most distinctive woods in the world, purpleheart is prized for its very unusual deep purple color.This beautiful wood is straight to wavy grained, fine and uniform textured and fairly smooth with a medium to high luster.

Probably one of the most difficult species to find. It grows erratically in South America. Typically, it is a very small tree, and only show the wonderful figure in a small quantity of the wood, and then rarely evenly spread across the entire face of the board. The jagged black blotches do resemble the skin of a snake, thus getting its name. The background wood is quite orange, with a very tight grain, and a moderate amount of black, irregularly shaped "leopard" spots.

Can have multi-shaded, interlocking bands of color in various shades of red with distinct purple overtones, in the more exotic samples, and fine, linear grain with greater color consistency in the balance.

It comes in a deep rose color. The wood is very dense, with a tight fine, mostly linear grain.

A bright orange wood from South Africa. With age and light its color darkens to a beautiful burnt umber color. The wood with an open pore and a coarse texture

Mostly black with occasional grey streaks, fine texture and a straight to wavy grain. Sap wood is pale yellow and very distinct.

Very coarse textured, African wood, with the typical so-called zebra stripes. Often with an interlocked or wavy grain.
